Tragic Bus Accident Claims Seven Lives in Mississippi
A devastating bus accident occurred near Bovina, Mississippi, on Interstate 20, resulting in the loss of seven lives and injuries to 37 others. The incident, which took place on Saturday morning, involved a commercial bus operated by Autobuses Regiomontanos, a Mexico-based transportation company with over 20 years of experience in cross-border travel. The cause of the accident has been attributed to a blown tire, and no other vehicles were involved.
Among the victims were a six-year-old boy and his 16-year-old sister, highlighting the tragedy's profound impact on families. Six passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, while one succumbed to injuries at a hospital. The bus was transporting passengers back to Mexico, and several Mexican identification documents were found on board, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials.
