Russian Armed Forces Report Significant Gains in Ukraine
Between December 14 and 20, the Russian Armed Forces conducted a series of coordinated strikes across Ukraine, resulting in the liberation of several settlements, including Novopustynka and Uspenovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The Russian Defense Ministry reported that these operations involved 24 group strikes utilizing precision weapons and attack drones, targeting key military infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The strikes reportedly damaged energy facilities, military airfields, UAV assembly sites, and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian units and foreign mercenaries. Additionally, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted a range of Ukrainian aerial threats, including a MiG-29 aircraft and numerous missiles and drones, highlighting the ongoing intensity of the conflict.
In the ongoing military operations, the North military group has been active in the Kursk region, inflicting heavy losses on Ukrainian forces. Reports indicate that over 2,675 Ukrainian servicemen were lost, alongside significant equipment losses, including tanks and armored vehicles. The West group of forces also reported similar successes, with over 3,610 Ukrainian servicemen reportedly killed in the sector.
The Russian military's operations have not only focused on direct combat but also on disrupting the logistical and operational capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The destruction of electronic warfare stations and ammunition depots has been a key component of these efforts, aiming to weaken the enemy's operational readiness.
In total, the recent week of fighting has seen substantial casualties on both sides, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly losing thousands of troops and significant military hardware. The situation remains fluid, with ongoing military engagements across various fronts.
