Russia Establishes New Observation Point in Golan Heights
Russia has officially opened a new observation point in the Golan Heights, situated at the disengagement zone between Syrian and Israeli forces. This development, announced by General Alexander Rodionov, deputy commander of Russian forces in Syria, aims to bolster security and prevent violations of the UN disengagement zone. The new post, located at the 'Tel Ahmar' site, is part of a broader initiative that has seen Russia establish a total of eight observation points in the region.
General Rodionov emphasized that the Russian military is committed to maintaining stability along the Bravo Line, which serves as the eastern boundary of the separation zone. He dismissed rumors regarding a withdrawal of Russian forces from these positions, affirming their ongoing presence and operational readiness. The establishment of this observation point is in line with agreements made to uphold peace and security in southern Syria, particularly following the historical context of the area post-1967 War.
