The Legacy of Fadi Hassan Al-Tawil: A Martyr of the Lebanese Resistance

Fadi Hassan Al-Tawil, a prominent Lebanese fighter, was born on May 10, 1969, in West Beirut, and grew up amidst the turmoil of the Lebanese civil war. Originating from Khirbet Selem in southern Lebanon, he was known for his religious commitment, humility, and dedication to his community. His journey in the resistance began in 1982, where he participated in various military operations against Israeli forces, showcasing his bravery and tactical skills.

Al-Tawil's military career was marked by significant contributions to the Islamic Resistance. He was involved in crucial missions, including surveillance, reconnaissance, and ambushes deep within occupied territories. His last operation, known as

took place on May 30, 1987, where he and his fellow fighters launched a fierce assault on Israeli military positions near Jezzine. This operation lasted nearly ten hours and resulted in substantial damage to enemy forces, including the destruction of a Merkava tank and the capture of military equipment.

Tragically, Fadi Al-Tawil was martyred during this operation, along with many other resistance fighters. His body remained on the battlefield for eight days before being recovered and laid to rest on June 8, 1987, amidst a mourning community that honored his sacrifice. Al-Tawil's life and martyrdom symbolize the enduring spirit of resistance in Lebanon, inspiring future generations.

The missile was notably utilized during the July 2006 war and was again deployed in September 2024 during a series of missile strikes targeting northern Israel.
