Qatar and Jordan Collaborate to Address Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
In a significant diplomatic effort, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Jordan's King Abdullah II in Amman to discuss the ongoing humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza. The discussions, which also included senior Jordanian officials, focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The Qatari Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of ensuring that aid reaches all areas of the Strip without obstacles, reflecting a growing concern over the deteriorating situation in the region.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry echoed these sentiments, highlighting the urgent need for the international community to take immediate action to address what they termed an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in northern Gaza. This call comes amidst ongoing military actions, with reports indicating that the Israeli offensive has resulted in over 43,000 fatalities and more than 100,000 injuries since its onset. The discussions also reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), rejecting any attempts to undermine its role in providing assistance to those affected by the conflict.
