Paris Basketball's Historic Euroleague Debut
Paris Basketball, a club established just six years ago in 2018, is set to make its grand entrance into the Euroleague this Friday night against Red Star Belgrade at the Adidas Arena. This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone for the club, which has rapidly climbed the ranks of European basketball. David Kahn, the president of Paris Basketball and a former NBA executive, reflects on the journey that has brought the club to this pivotal point.
Kahn, who has an extensive background in basketball operations with teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers, expressed his excitement about the upcoming match, stating, "On a scale of 1 to 10, my excitement is an 11! We are proud to play in the best league outside of the NBA, and on some nights, maybe even better." The anticipation surrounding the match is palpable, with a sold-out crowd expected to fill the Adidas Arena, showcasing the growing popularity of the club in the heart of Paris.
The president also discussed the club's development and the recent appointment of Tiago Splitter as the new head coach.
