Over 1500 Palestinians Killed in Northern Gaza Amid Ongoing Violence

Images from the reference sources
The ongoing conflict in Northern Gaza has resulted in over 1500 Palestinian deaths in 34 days, with severe humanitarian implications as the healthcare system struggles to cope.

The situation in Northern Gaza is deteriorating rapidly, with the healthcare system overwhelmed and unable to cope with the number of casualties due to ongoing violence.

The Israeli military's actions have drawn international condemnation, with calls for accountability and adherence to international humanitarian law.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is expected to worsen unless immediate international intervention occurs to provide aid and cease hostilities.

Continued violence may lead to increased international scrutiny and potential sanctions against Israel.

On November 7, 2024, the Director General of the Gaza Health Ministry, Munir Al-Barsh, announced that over 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in Northern Gaza during the past 34 days amid ongoing violence and ethnic cleansing. Al-Barsh stated that the Israeli military continues to commit atrocities, targeting shelters and civilians, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries within an already strained healthcare system.

Hossam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, reported that the hospital is providing care to the injured with minimal resources, compounded by the Israeli military's detention of healthcare workers and restrictions on medical supplies. Since the onset of a ground invasion on October 5, 2023, Israel has claimed the operation aims to prevent Hamas from regaining strength in the region.

Palestinians allege that Israel's true intention is to occupy Northern Gaza and establish a buffer zone following the displacement of its residents, amidst continuous bombardment and a severe blockade that restricts the entry of food, water, and medical supplies.

Since October 7, 2023, with unwavering U.S. support, Israel has reportedly committed acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 146,000 casualties, including many women and children, and leaving more than 10,000 missing, amidst widespread destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of numerous children and elderly individuals.

Israel continues its military actions, disregarding United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and International Court of Justice orders to take measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
