Military expert Hassan Jouni has stated that Israeli forces are struggling to enter the village of Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon due to strong resistance from Hezbollah fighters. He noted that the fighting at zero distance is a significant factor in preventing their advance. Efforts are also being made to enter the village of al-Taybi, with Israeli forces attempting to breach it from Kfar Kila after failing from the Rab Thalatheen axis. Jouni expressed skepticism about their success, citing the challenging terrain and Hezbollah's firepower as obstacles.
Jouni described the current Israeli military operations around the villages of Dahra and Marwahin as maneuvers aimed at distracting Hezbollah forces, which still pose a threat to the invading troops. He characterized the attack on Shebaa and Kfar Shuba as defensive rather than offensive, aimed at preventing Hezbollah attacks and separating them from the occupied Syrian Golan. He emphasized the unsuitable geographical features for a successful attack along this axis.
Hezbollah's missile barrages are intended to maintain a balance of deterrence against Israel, contributing to a situation where both sides experience security concerns.
