A 43-year-old man suspected of posing as a police officer to force sexual relations on young women in Loiret was arrested on Friday and subsequently indicted, according to the Orleans public prosecutor's office. The arrest followed a complaint filed by a young woman who reported being forced into a vehicle by a man wearing a police vest and armband in the town of Fleury-les-Aubrais.
The suspect, originally from Val-de-Marne, allegedly tried to impose a sexual relationship on the young woman by accusing her of committing road safety offenses. Investigators also identified another victim approached by the same man in the gendarmerie zone of Loiret.
The suspect was identified through a partial reading of a license plate provided by the complainant and was arrested by judicial police officers from Val-de-Marne. Transferred to police custody in Loiret, the man partially admitted to the accusations but denied using coercion on the victims.
The man has been indicted on several counts, including attempted rape, arrest, kidnapping, and wearing a police uniform to commit a crime. The national police and the Orléans public prosecutor's office have urged any victims or witnesses related to the ongoing investigation to contact the Orléans police station.
- The joint press release from the interdepartmental director of the Loiret national police, Thierry Guiguet-Doron, and the public prosecutor of Orléans, Emmanuelle Bochenek-Puren, highlighted the seriousness of the charges against the suspect.
- Authorities are continuing their investigations and are seeking additional information from the public to ensure that all potential victims are identified and justice is served.
