Limoges CSP Faces Demotion Amidst Financial Turmoil
A year ago, the Limoges CSP club was basking in the glory of its past successes, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its European champion title. That triumph marked the first time a French club won such an honor, putting Limoges on the map in French basketball. Fast forward to today, and the situation has dramatically shifted.
- The DNCCG's decision comes as no surprise given the recent financial controversies surrounding the club. The rejection of a €1.2 million takeover offer by Lionel Peluhet and the mysterious promise of a $5 million transfer from an unnamed Hong Kong partner have only fueled uncertainties. This situation has already led to the resignation of the CSP board chairman, Didier Jamot.
- The CSP has eight days to present new tangible elements to the DNCCG or face demotion to amateur status. Should this happen, the club could appeal to the chamber of the Federation and seek conciliation from the French Olympic Committee (CNOSF).
