Lada Aura Business Sedan Launches in Russia
AvtoVAZ has officially commenced retail sales of its new Lada Aura business sedan, with the first units set to arrive at select dealerships in Moscow and St. Petersburg starting November 30, 2024. The vehicle is priced starting at 2.6 million rubles, with plans for distribution to additional regions across Russia, including Krasnodar, Stavropol, Volgograd, and Nizhny Novgorod, beginning in December.
The automaker aims to ramp up production to 76 cars per day by mid-December to ensure timely deliveries for both government and corporate orders. The Lada Aura, which began serial production in October, is equipped with a 1.8 EVO engine generating 122 horsepower and features an automatic transmission. Notably, the design focuses on passenger comfort, particularly for those seated in the rear, who benefit from an additional 25 cm of legroom.
The Aura will be available in two trim levels: Premier and Status. The Premier version includes advanced safety and comfort features such as LED optics, multiple airbags, a stability control system, and a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen. The Status version offers premium enhancements, including a leather interior, rear seat heating, and a larger multimedia system with Yandex.Auto services, starting at 2.8 million rubles.
President Vladimir Putin has publicly endorsed the Lada Aura, having tested the vehicle himself, noting its ease of driving and modern features. The sedan has also been added to a list of domestic cars recommended for use by state employees, highlighting its significance in Russia's automotive landscape.
