Violent Attack at Le Mée-sur-Seine Police Station
On November 19, 2024, a shocking incident occurred at the municipal police station in Le Mée-sur-Seine, Seine-et-Marne, where a public highway surveillance officer (ASVP) was threatened with a knife. The attack took place around 12:30 PM as the officer returned from a school security mission. Unbeknownst to her, a man followed her into the station and brandished a knife under her throat. Fortunately, her colleagues, who were also returning from patrol, intervened swiftly, disarming the attacker and preventing what could have been a tragic outcome.

The attacker was arrested immediately following the incident, and an investigation into attempted homicide of a public authority figure has been launched. The public prosecutor, Jean-Michel Bourlès, confirmed that a psychiatric assessment revealed the man's discernment was abolished at the time of the attack, leading to his hospitalization in a psychiatric facility.
