Israeli Forces Withdraw from Jenin Amid Ongoing Clashes
The Israeli occupation forces have completed a 10-day military operation in Jenin, northern West Bank, withdrawing from the city and its camp. According to local sources, this withdrawal involved the evacuation of military vehicles and sniper teams from residential areas, while the military redeployed at checkpoints surrounding the city. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the operation resulted in the deaths of 22 Palestinians and over 30 injuries due to Israeli air strikes and gunfire targeting resistance fighters.
The recent military actions included concentrated attacks on various parts of Jenin, where the occupation forces besieged local institutions and demanded evacuations from residential buildings. Eyewitnesses described scenes of destruction as military bulldozers demolished homes, uprooted electricity poles, and damaged water and sewage networks. The clashes stemmed from an Israeli operation aimed at dismantling resistance cells, leading to confrontations where resistance fighters utilized explosive devices and gunfire against the occupation forces.
In nearby Nablus, clashes erupted in the Balata camp, resulting in injuries to civilians amid violent confrontations with Palestinian resistance fighters. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported additional injuries in Husan and other areas as tensions escalated. Just before the withdrawal from Jenin, Israeli forces also stormed Tulkarm, closing entrances and opening fire on press crews, further intensifying the situation.
As communities mourn, funerals were held for four martyrs in Tubas, with others being prepared for burial in Qabatiya. Meanwhile, Hebron continues to experience a siege, with military operations ongoing and entrances closed. The recent violence has left a significant mark on the region, highlighting the ongoing conflict and humanitarian concerns.
