Iran Resumes Flights Amid Regional Tensions
Iran has lifted its restrictions on flights, allowing airlines to resume operations following a brief suspension due to safety concerns. The Civil Aviation Organization confirmed that favorable conditions for flying have been established, leading to the cancellation of the earlier flight ban that was in place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time. This decision came in the wake of heightened tensions following Iran's missile attack on Israel, which was described by Iranian officials as a necessary response to regional aggression.
The missile attack, which Iran claims targeted military installations, has drawn international attention and criticism. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the operation was conducted in accordance with the UN Charter and aimed at curbing what he termed the brutality of Israel in the region. He emphasized that Iran had exercised restraint in the wake of provocations, including the assassination of a key Palestinian figure, Ismail Haniyeh, and had hoped for successful ceasefire negotiations.
In a show of military readiness, Iranian Army Commander Abdul Rahim Mousavi warned that any retaliation from Israel would be met with a stronger response from Tehran, highlighting the ongoing volatility in the region.
