Iran's Nuclear Program: Transparency and Advancements
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, has reaffirmed the country's commitment to a transparent nuclear program, emphasizing that it operates under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Iran continues to enrich uranium at various levels, including 60%, 20%, and 5%, to meet its national needs. Eslami announced the initiation of gasification processes for thousands of advanced centrifuges, which he described as a response to international resolutions that Iran perceives as hostile.
Peaceful Objectives Amidst International Scrutiny
Eslami highlighted that Iran's nuclear ambitions are centered around peaceful objectives, directly benefiting the Iranian populace. He dismissed allegations of secret nuclear activities as outdated and often propagated by opposition groups. He pointed out that US intelligence agencies have consistently confirmed the absence of a military nuclear program in Iran. Furthermore, he stated that all concerns regarding undeclared nuclear sites have been addressed and closed through the
PMD
document.
Commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
In his statements, Eslami warned that any failure by other parties to uphold their obligations under the JCPOA would provoke an appropriate response from Iran. He reiterated the nation's determination to advance its nuclear program within the frameworks of international law, maintaining that the country will not succumb to what he termed as
pressure and illegal behavior.
Eslami's remarks come amid ongoing tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear activities and the geopolitical implications of its advancements.
