This case exemplifies how ancient DNA can provide objective insights into our past.

In a related development, a controversial 20-year genetic study suggests that Christopher Columbus, traditionally believed to be an Italian from Genoa, may have been a Spanish Jew. Led by Spanish forensic scientist José Antonio Llorente, this study has sparked debates among historians and scientists alike, with many awaiting peer-reviewed publication before drawing conclusions.
