Complex Negotiations as Hamas Deliberates on Ceasefire Proposal
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is currently scrutinizing an American proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to a spokesperson from the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Hamas is still in dialogue over the details. Amidst heightened tensions, Israel expects a response from Hamas by tomorrow, Saturday.
Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau, affirmed the movement's willingness to seriously engage with any agreement ensuring a comprehensive cessation of aggression, complete withdrawal, and prisoner exchange. This commitment echoes the collective will of the Palestinian people and their resilience, emphasized Haniyeh.
Parallel to Hamas's considerations, the Islamic Jihad Movement has vocalized their demand for a final ceasefire clause within any exchange agreement. In alignment with the diplomatic undertakings, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported Israel's anticipation of Hamas's response regarding Biden’s ceasefire proposal.
