Hamas Open to Ceasefire Negotiations
Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri announced that the movement is willing to discuss any proposals aimed at achieving a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. In a recent videotaped speech, he confirmed that Hamas has responded positively to mediators' requests for discussions on new ceasefire agreements. Abu Zuhri emphasized that the movement is committed to halting aggression, lifting the siege, and facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Call for Arab and Islamic Support
Abu Zuhri urged Arab and Islamic governments to take decisive action to break the siege on Gaza and provide much-needed aid, particularly to the northern region. He criticized the ineffectiveness of merely issuing statements of condemnation, asserting that these governments must take concrete steps to support the Palestinian cause. He expressed frustration over the international community's failure to stop the occupation, calling for a unified response to protect the Palestinian people.
Opposition to Normalization with Israel
The Hamas leader condemned countries that have normalized relations with Israel, urging them to sever ties immediately. He referred to the Israeli Knesset's recent vote to restrict the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) as an escalation of aggression against Palestinians. Abu Zuhri characterized the ongoing Israeli policies as a threat to regional security and stability, calling on global nations to reject such actions and support the Palestinian struggle.
