Grimes Reveals Custody Struggles with Elon Musk
Canadian singer Claire Elise Boucher, popularly known as Grimes, has publicly shared her distressing experience regarding the custody battle with her ex-partner, billionaire Elon Musk. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Grimes disclosed that she was denied access to one of their three children for five months amid ongoing legal disputes that began in October 2023.
Grimes, who has three children with Musk—X-A-Twelve, 4, X-Dark-Cedrael, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2—expressed her frustration over the custody process, highlighting the challenges posed by what she described as unfavorable maternal rights laws in the states of California and Texas. She stated, "I spent a year fighting a battle in a state with bad maternal rights laws, where my Instagram posts and modeling gigs were used as grounds to deny me custody of my children." Grimes emphasized the emotional toll of separating from Musk, whom she referred to as the 'love of my life' but who had become unrecognizable to her during this tumultuous period.
In her post, Grimes criticized Musk for leveraging his significant resources to challenge her in court, stating that she faced this battle with limited legal support. She refrained from disclosing many details, noting that much of her experience must remain confidential.
The custody dispute has also seen Grimes' mother, Sandy Garosino, reaching out to Musk in an open letter, pleading for him to return the children's passports so they could visit their ailing great-grandmother. Sandy's heartfelt message on X highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating, "This is very painful for my mother and very worrying for the children. Time is of the essence now."
