Netflix Hosts Giant Games on Champs-Élysées for 'Squid Game' Season 2 Launch
Netflix is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of 'Squid Game' Season 2 by organizing a unique event on the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris. On December 1, 2024, the famous avenue will be transformed into a giant playground for a massive game of '1, 2, 3 soleil', inspired by the popular South Korean series. This event aims to celebrate the return of the show, which will premiere its second season on December 26, 2024.
Participants, aged 18 and over, can register on a dedicated website starting November 26 for a chance to be among the 456 fans selected to play. The organizers emphasize a spirit of fair play and mutual assistance, urging participants to engage in a friendly atmosphere. Any violent or malicious behavior will lead to immediate exclusion from the games. The event will feature various childhood games, including hopscotch and skipping rope, ensuring a nostalgic experience for attendees.
Team Play and Celebrity Hosts
The selected participants will be divided into three teams, each led by popular content creators: Maghla, Just Riadh, and Inoxtag, who recently made headlines for climbing Everest. The teams will strategize to navigate the challenges of the games, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Following the initial competition, the general public will be invited to watch a second round of '1, 2, 3 soleil', which promises to be filled with surprises and excitement.
A Celebration of a Cultural Phenomenon
Since its debut in September 2021, 'Squid Game' has become a cultural phenomenon, breaking records as Netflix's most-watched series with over 571 million hours viewed in its first week. The show's success has led to a reality TV adaptation and a planned video game. The final season is set for release in 2025. This event on the Champs-Élysées, in collaboration with the Comité des Champs-Élysées, highlights the show's impact and Netflix's commitment to engaging its audience in innovative ways.
