Gaza's Schools Under Siege: Over 179 Palestinians Killed Amid Ongoing Israeli Bombardment

Explore the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip as Israeli bombardments target schools housing displaced civilians, resulting in over 179 deaths. Understand the implications and the urgent calls for international accountability.

Hardly a day goes by without the Israeli occupation committing a new massacre in one or more schools that have become the last refuge for the displaced in the Gaza Strip. Just as the massacres are similar in causing dozens of martyrs and wounded, the occupation’s claims are similar in that it targets gunmen inside the school, and the total international silence is also similar.

Today, Wednesday, the displaced people who were crowded into the Salah al-Din School affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) west of Gaza City were on the verge of a new massacre in which 7 people were martyred and others were injured. Eyewitnesses said that Israeli warplanes bombed the school, which is the tenth school that houses displaced people and has been targeted by the occupation army since the beginning of this August.

In response, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) considered the massacre “a confirmation of the bloodiness of the extremist Tel Aviv government and its insistence on continuing the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, and its deliberate targeting of civilians in shelter and displacement centers.”
