A group of children in the Gaza Strip has made a heartfelt plea to the world for food and an end to the ongoing war, highlighting the severe humanitarian crisis in the region. In a video shared by activist Saed Hasaballah, the children can be seen singing and banging on empty food containers, calling for essential supplies such as fruits, chicken, and meat. Their message comes amid worsening famine conditions due to the Israeli blockade and ongoing conflict, which has left many areas in Gaza in dire need of humanitarian assistance.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) recently announced a suspension of aid deliveries through the Kerem Shalom crossing following an incident where armed groups seized food trucks. This has exacerbated the already critical situation, with reports indicating that the population in Gaza is experiencing unprecedented levels of hunger and suffering, particularly as winter approaches.
The UN World Food Programme reported that bakeries in central Gaza have closed due to supply shortages, and only about 30 aid trucks are entering the region daily, which is insufficient to meet the needs of the displaced population. Since the onset of the conflict on October 7, 2023, over 149,000 Palestinians have been reported killed or wounded, with a significant number being children and women. The humanitarian disaster continues to escalate, prompting urgent calls for international intervention.
