US-British Air Strikes Target Yemeni Cities Amid Ongoing Conflict
In a significant escalation of military actions in Yemen, media outlets linked to the Houthi group reported that the cities of Sana'a, Hodeidah, and Dhamar were hit by air strikes conducted by American and British forces on Friday evening. According to Al Masirah TV, a total of 12 raids were launched, with four strikes targeting the Al-Thawra district maintenance area in Sana'a, and seven strikes aimed at Hodeidah International Airport and the Al-Kathib area in Hodeidah Governorate. Additionally, one raid was reported south of Dhamar, located approximately 100 kilometers from the capital.
The Houthis have condemned these actions as part of an ongoing
aggression
against Yemen, while no immediate response has been provided by the US or UK governments. This military action comes amidst a backdrop of intensified Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, targeting ships associated with Israel, the US, and the UK, purportedly in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has faced significant military aggression from Israel over the past year.
The Houthi group has also been known to launch ballistic missiles at Israeli cities like Tel Aviv and Eilat, further complicating the regional security landscape. The US military has periodically announced strikes against Houthi military targets in Yemen, highlighting the ongoing conflict's complexity. Furthermore, Israel has conducted air operations in Hodeidah, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage, including the destruction of power stations and fuel tanks.
