Palestinian Authority Security Forces Clash with Resistance Fighters
In a tragic incident in the Jenin camp, Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces shot and killed a Palestinian during violent clashes. Local sources reported that the individual was shot twice in the head and chest, marking a significant escalation in tensions within the region. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of seven individuals since the PA launched its 'Homeland Protection' campaign, which aims to target what they describe as outlaws in the area.
Rising Tensions Amid Military Operations
The situation has been further exacerbated by armed clashes in the town of Tamoun, south of Tubas, where PA security forces confiscated a house, igniting resistance from local fighters. Brigadier General Anwar Rajab, a spokesperson for the Palestinian security services, stated that the military operation in Jenin camp will continue unabated, emphasizing that there will be no negotiations or retreat. This operation has been ongoing for over two weeks, with the Jenin Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades claiming that the PA's actions are specifically targeting their group, aiming to disarm the resistance.
Public Support for Resistance in Ramallah
In response to the escalating violence, a demonstration took place in Al-Manara Square in Ramallah, where participants expressed solidarity with the Jenin Battalion and the residents of the camp. The vigil featured Palestinian flags and banners promoting national unity against the occupation. The Jenin camp has been a focal point of armed resistance against Israeli military operations, which have intensified since October 7, 2023. These operations have resulted in significant casualties and destruction, with reports of over 153,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, including many children and women, amid a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
