A man deliberately hit two motorcycle police officers during a police chase in Paris on Saturday, August 24, 2023. The incident began when the driver refused to stop at a road check in the 19th arrondissement. Following the refusal, a pursuit ensued, leading the motorist to the outer ring road and eventually to a dead-end at Porte de Saint-Ouen. Faced with two Brav-M officers blocking his exit, the driver reversed his vehicle, intentionally colliding with the officers before fleeing towards Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine).
The police officers, who were injured in the incident, were transported to Bichat and Percy hospitals. Fortunately, their vital signs remain stable despite suffering from back and leg pain. A third officer from the anti-crime brigade sustained a minor hand injury and was also hospitalized. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the driver’s actions, as he discarded a bag during the chase that has not yet been recovered.
