Warm Weather Returns to Baden-Württemberg
In Baden-Württemberg, the dreary days of autumn are being replaced by a pleasant late summer. After a week marked by rain and cool temperatures, the region is now experiencing a welcome change. Meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net explains that high-pressure areas named 'Serkan' and 'Quentin' are directing warm air from the north and east into Germany, leading to a significant rise in temperatures. Residents can expect highs of up to 21 degrees Celsius, with sunny spells dominating most regions.
Perfect Conditions for Outdoor Activities
This weekend promises perfect weather for outdoor enthusiasts, with Saturday expected to bring temperatures between 22-26 degrees Celsius and dry conditions. It’s an ideal time for autumn hikes and nature trips, as the sun is expected to shine brightly. However, Sunday may see some variability with short rain showers possible, though temperatures will still hover around 23 degrees. A shift in the weather is anticipated by Tuesday, September 24th, with forecasts predicting up to 30 liters of rain per square meter in some areas.
Encouraging October Weather Forecast
Looking ahead, Dominik Jung has revised the October forecast upwards, predicting temperatures 1-2 degrees above the new climate average for the years 1991-2020 across Germany. While it’s uncertain if this will lead to a 'golden October' filled with sunshine, the overall outlook appears promising. In contrast, the Alpine regions may experience slightly wetter conditions, while northern Germany could face drier weather.
Storms and Summer Heat in France
Meanwhile, in France, the weather is also shifting dramatically. This afternoon, clearings are expected, bringing summer temperatures back to two-thirds of the country, with Paris reaching nearly 25 degrees Celsius. However, Haute-Corse is bracing for heavy storms, potentially bringing a month and a half's worth of rain in just 24 hours. Wind gusts are expected to reach 50-60 km/h, particularly along the Channel.
Variable Weather Across France
Despite the sunny spells in most parts, the extreme southeast and Corsica are experiencing persistent cloud cover and heavy thunderstorms. Morning temperatures in France vary significantly, from a cool 9 degrees Celsius in Aurillac to a mild 18 degrees in Nice. As the day progresses, clearer skies are anticipated, although thunderstorms are expected to continue in Haute-Corse.
Upcoming Weather Trends
For Thursday and Friday, summer temperatures are set to dominate much of France, although sporadic thunderstorms may hit New Aquitaine on Friday evening. This stormy trend is predicted to extend across the western regions of the country by Saturday and Sunday, bringing a mix of weather conditions to the nation.
