On November 24, 2024, the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) launched its inaugural "Artificial Intelligence Week" to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The event attracted a diverse group of academics, specialists, and officials, including ambassadors from various countries, highlighting Qatar's commitment to technological innovation in the region.
The week-long event featured lectures and workshops led by global experts, focusing on the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence (AI) across sectors such as economy, health, and education. Participants discussed how AI can enhance sustainable development and improve quality of life.
Dr. Jack Lau, President of QSTP, emphasized the significance of AI as a cornerstone for future technological advancements. The event showcased practical AI applications aimed at addressing chronic health issues and optimizing industrial production processes.
In addition to expert-led sessions, the event included workshops on the latest AI innovations, with participation from local and international companies, including the Ministry of Municipality and Qatar Shell. Family-friendly activities were also part of the program, fostering community engagement.
