Éric Ciotti's Election Night: A Close Look at the Results

As usual, Éric Ciotti spent his election evening in his office at the edge of the port of Nice, Alpes-Maritimes. After casting his vote in the morning, he arrived at his office around 5:30 p.m. and spent the evening observing the first trends with his close circle. It was only around 9 p.m., in front of a crowd of journalists and around forty activists waving small French flags, that the leader of the right-wing party came to speak.

A Historic Alliance and Election Results

Despite the controversial alliance with the RN, Ciotti appeared satisfied, declaring that 'victory is in sight' in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th districts. His announcement that 'Jordan Bardella is at the gates of Matignon' was met with loud applause and cheers from his supporters. According to partial results, Ciotti garnered 41.5% of the votes in the first round, a significant increase from the 32% he received in the 2022 legislative elections. The New Popular Front followed with 26%, and Graig Monetti of Horizons secured 22%.

Although Ciotti's alliance with the RN has been criticized, the results indicate a validation of this strategy. However, Graig Monetti has already declared his intention to continue campaigning, suggesting that the political battle is far from over.
