President Yoon and Xi Jinping to Meet in Peru Amid Global Tensions
South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol is set to hold a significant summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping on November 15 in Lima, Peru, coinciding with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. This meeting marks the first face-to-face encounter between the two leaders since the G20 Summit in Indonesia in November 2022. According to Kim Tae-hyo, Deputy Director of the National Security Office, the discussions will focus on revitalizing economic cooperation and addressing regional security issues, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula and military collaborations between North Korea and Russia.
