Knife Fight Outside Antibes High School Injures Three

On November 18, 2024, a violent altercation escalated into a knife fight outside the Jacques-Dolle high school in Antibes, Alpes-Maritimes, injuring three individuals, including two students and an educational assistant. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when one student returned with a knife after an initial argument, leading to injuries to both himself and another student, who was struck in the back and hand. The injured students were transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the educational assistant sustained a minor injury while attempting to intervene. The perpetrator fled the scene on a two-wheeler but was apprehended shortly after by police. In response to the incident, a psychological support unit was established for students and staff at the school.

Multiple Violent Incidents in China

In a separate incident on the same day, several students were injured after being struck by a car outside an elementary school in Changde, Hunan province, China. This incident marks the third violent occurrence in the country within a week, following a tragic event in Zhuhai where 35 people lost their lives due to a speeding vehicle, and another stabbing incident in Wuxi that resulted in eight fatalities. Additionally, a stampede at a school in Kashgar, Xinjiang, left 14 individuals injured, with three suffering serious injuries. Local authorities are investigating the causes of these incidents, which have raised concerns about safety in educational environments across China.
