The standard bearer of the majority opposition in Venezuela, Edmundo González Urrutia, has refused to appear before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) for a summons related to the certification of the presidential election results.
González Urrutia claims that the procedures followed by the TSJ violate due process and do not align with Venezuelan electoral law. He argues that the Electoral Chamber cannot usurp the constitutional functions of the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The TSJ had summoned former candidates to validate Nicolás Maduro's disputed re-election, but González Urrutia asserts that he has evidence supporting his claim of victory.
