Renowned Russian actor and director Vasily Livanov is currently in intensive care at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute in Moscow, where he is receiving treatment in the neurology department. Reports indicate that the 89-year-old artist's condition is serious, following rumors of a stroke that circulated on social media. However, his daughter-in-law, Ekaterina Livanova, has clarified that he is not suffering from a stroke but is dealing with low blood pressure and anemia. She mentioned that he was discharged from the hospital two weeks ago and is now being treated at home.
On October 3, Ekaterina confirmed that Livanov was indeed hospitalized but did not provide further details about his condition. She noted that he was active until the weekend of September 28-29, when he was still at home.
Livanov, born on July 19, 1935, in Moscow, has had a prolific career in film and theater, becoming a beloved figure in Russian culture. He gained immense popularity for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in the Soviet television series 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson,' which aired from 1979 to 1986. His unique voice and talent have made him a celebrated voice actor, lending his voice to around 300 cartoon characters, including iconic roles in 'The Bremen Town Musicians.'
His contributions to the arts have been recognized with numerous awards, including the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1988 and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland in 2005. Livanov's legacy continues to inspire future generations of artists.
