Recent elections held in Russia from September 6 to 8 witnessed significant victories for the United Russia party across various regions. Preliminary data from the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) indicates that current regional heads have triumphed in all regions where elections were conducted. Among the notable winners are several acting governors, including Andrei Turchak of the Altai Republic, who secured 74.09% of the votes, and Aleksey Besprozvannykh of the Kaliningrad Oblast, who received 76.55%. The elections also saw the acting governor of the Kurgan region, Vadim Shumkov, achieving an impressive 85.17% of the vote. The participation rate in remote electronic voting was remarkably high, with a turnout of 89.92% reported by the Ministry of Digital Development.

Despite the success of the elections, the CEC noted that over 200,000 DDoS attacks targeted its information resources during the voting period. However, the Russian Interior Ministry assured that no violations that could influence the election outcomes were reported. Following the elections, President Vladimir Putin is expected to convene a meeting with the newly elected governors to discuss future governance and strategies.
