US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Devin Nunes, the CEO of Truth Social, to chair the White House Intelligence Advisory Board. Nunes, a former congressman and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is known for his controversial stance on the FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump emphasized that Nunes will provide independent assessments of the U.S. Intelligence Community's activities, drawing on his past experience and role in exposing what he termed the 'Russia hoax.'
In addition to Nunes, Trump has appointed Richard Grenell as a presidential envoy for special missions, focusing on critical global regions such as Venezuela and North Korea. Grenell has held various significant roles, including ambassador to Germany and acting director of U.S. intelligence. These appointments come as Trump prepares for his inauguration on January 20, following his recent nomination of Kash Patel as FBI director.
