Marcee Gray, the mother of the 14-year-old accused of shooting four people dead Wednesday at a school near Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested in 2023 on family violence charges, according to arrest warrants obtained by NBC News. Barrow County court records show she pleaded guilty in December to one count of second-degree criminal damage to property and one count of criminal trespassing for family violence.
Colt Gray, a 14-year-old boy, is accused of killing two teachers and two 14-year-old students at Apalachee High School in Winder, about 45 miles northeast of Atlanta, with an assault rifle on Wednesday, and wounding nine people who will all 'make a full recovery,' local sheriff Jud Smith said at a news conference Thursday evening.
