The incident occurred near the city of Gongyi in Henan province and was captured on video by several residents, showing the rocket leaving a trail of black smoke before exploding in a dramatic fireball.

Local authorities confirmed that the explosion caused a fire away from residential areas, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Extensive safety measures had been taken in cooperation with the local government, including the evacuation of residents before the test. The failure was attributed to a structural problem in the attachment between the rocket and the ramp, as well as excessive thrust from the second stage engines. The on-board computer quickly reacted by shutting down the engines, preventing further damage.

Following the incident, Space Pioneer announced plans to address the issues before conducting another test. The rocket's successful launch is crucial for building China's satellite Internet network. This event comes shortly after Chinese leader Xi Jinping called for closer cooperation between the science industry and the government to accelerate technological advancements. Jinping emphasized the importance of innovation to maintain a competitive edge in global science and technology.
