Microplastics Found in Coca-Cola and Schweppes: A Health Concern
Recent investigations have revealed alarming findings regarding microplastics in popular soft drinks. According to a report by the French association Agir pour l'Environnement, six types of plastic particles, including fine particles and nanoparticles, were detected in both Coca-Cola and Schweppes Indian Tonic bottles. This study raises significant concerns about the safety of these beverages and the implications for consumer health. The investigation involved testing one-liter Coca-Cola bottles and 1.5-liter Schweppes bottles, with samples taken after various levels of use, indicating that the number of particles increases with each opening of the bottle.
