Sean Combs Faces New Sexual Assault and Trafficking Allegations
Sean "Diddy" Combs, the renowned music mogul, is embroiled in yet another legal battle as new allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking surface. Adria English, a former adult film actress, has filed a lawsuit accusing Combs and several other defendants of using her as a "sexual pawn" during his infamous "White Parties" between 2006 and 2009. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeks an undisclosed amount in punitive damages and requests a jury trial.
English claims that Combs forced her into prostitution and sex work, alleging that she was coerced into performing sexual acts for the pleasure and financial benefit of others at parties held in the Hamptons and Miami. The lawsuit also names Jacob Arabov, a well-known jewelry businessman, as one of the defendants. English alleges that she was forced to engage in sexual acts with Arabov and was paid $1,000 more than usual for her services, with Combs personally congratulating her afterward.
Pattern of Abuse and Legal Troubles
This lawsuit marks the ninth legal action against Combs since November, with eight of them directly accusing him of sexual assault. Combs' ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, was the first to come forward, alleging years of abuse, rape, and drugging. Ventura's lawsuit was settled out of court, but it set off a wave of accusations from other women.
English's lawsuit is particularly disturbing as it parallels other claims of long-term abuse and manipulation. She describes being "passed from hand to hand" at various parties and events, suffering sexual assaults orchestrated by Combs and his associates, including a woman named Tamiko Thomas, who allegedly managed the sex trafficking operations. English's harrowing account includes being drugged and coerced into sexual acts under the guise of advancing her career in the entertainment industry.
Federal investigators are now preparing to present Combs' accusers before a federal grand jury, signaling a significant escalation in the government's investigation. The U.S. Justice Department's involvement suggests that Combs could face serious charges and potential prison time.
- Jonathan Davis, Combs' attorney, has dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating that Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone. He emphasized that the judicial process would reveal the truth, and Combs remains confident in his innocence.
- Combs has vehemently denied the claims in many of the civil lawsuits. In December 2023, after four lawsuits were filed against him, Combs posted a denial on his social media accounts, calling the accusations "sickening" and accusing his accusers of seeking a "quick payday."
- English's story aligns with other lawsuits filed against Combs, where women initially believed in his promises to help them in the entertainment industry, only to be subjected to sexual abuse. The allegations span decades, with some dating back to the early 1990s. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has already searched two of Combs' homes, indicating the severity of the investigation.
