Russian Armed Forces Report Significant Strikes and Territorial Gains in Ukraine
The Russian Defense Ministry has released a detailed report on the operations of the Russian Armed Forces in the Special Military Operation (SVO) zone from September 14 to 20. During this week, the Russian military conducted 27 group strikes utilizing high-precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles, targeting key infrastructure and military assets in Ukraine. The strikes resulted in significant damage to energy facilities critical to Ukraine's military-industrial complex, military airfield infrastructure, and UAV storage areas, effectively disrupting Ukrainian military operations.
In addition to infrastructure, the Russian forces targeted and destroyed various military resources, including ammunition depots, logistics centers, and repair bases for weaponry. Notably, the report indicates that Russian Aerospace Forces achieved aerial superiority, downing three Ukrainian aircraft, including a MiG-29 and two Su-27s, while also destroying a significant number of advanced weaponry supplied by Western nations, such as ATACMS missiles and HIMARS rockets.
Heavy Ukrainian Losses Amidst Ongoing Conflict
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that during the same period, 53 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered, and four settlements were liberated, including Zhelannoye Pervoye and Georgievka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The operations in the Kursk direction were particularly effective, where Russian forces inflicted heavy losses on Ukrainian brigades, thwarting their counterattacks and preventing the introduction of enemy reserves.
Across various fronts, the losses for the Ukrainian Armed Forces were substantial, with reports indicating over 3,500 servicemen lost, along with numerous tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems. The Russian military's strategic advances have reportedly led to the destruction of a wide array of military equipment, including NATO-supplied artillery and electronic warfare stations. As the conflict continues, the situation remains fluid, with both sides engaging in intense battles across multiple fronts.
