Racing 92, the resident rugby club at Paris La Défense Arena, is set to launch a new initiative called Racing Live, which combines rugby matches with musical performances. This unique experience aims to provide over two hours of entertainment, starting in January 2024. After the traditional 80-minute rugby match, fans will enjoy a 30-minute concert featuring popular artists from the French pop and urban music scenes, including Kendji Girac, Franglish, and Matt Pokora.
The first event is scheduled for January 18, 2024, when Racing 92 will face the South African Stormers in a Champions Cup match, followed by a concert from Franglish. Other artists slated to perform throughout the season include Kavinsky, Amir, Claudio Capéo, Jenifer, and Dadju.
Laurent Travers, Chairman of Racing 92, expressed pride in welcoming renowned artists to enhance the matchday experience for fans, whether they are rugby enthusiasts or music lovers. Bathilde Lorenzetti, vice-president of Paris La Défense Arena, emphasized the venue's ambition to become a cultural and entertainment hub on both national and international levels.
Paris La Défense Arena, located in Nanterre, has a capacity of approximately 45,000 seats and has hosted major events since its opening in 2017, including swimming events during the Paris Olympics and concerts by global stars like the Rolling Stones and Taylor Swift.
