President Herzog's Visit to Metula Amidst Ongoing Conflict
Yesterday, President Yitzhak Herzog visited Metula, the northernmost settlement in Israel, reaffirming the nation's resolve and support amidst ongoing conflicts. The President met with David Azoulai, head of the council, members of the standby squad, and reservists from the patrol battalion 6226, who are actively serving in the Golan Heights' northern sector.
Upholding Israeli Sovereignty
In addressing the council, Herzog praised the 130-year history of Metula and its residents' resilience. He emphasized, "Israeli sovereignty extends to the limit. We care about the people, and that is why they are not here. But this war will end in one way or another, and we will return. You will continue to build, plant, and educate. This place will rise and flourish."
Herzog thanked the IDF forces for their invaluable contribution, stating, "We are effectively dealing with the enemy on multiple fronts and will eventually restore peace to Metula and the north."
Strengthening the Community
The President extended his gratitude to the standby squad and reservists for their courage and dedication. Acknowledging the difficulty of the current circumstances, Herzog assured them that the nation stands behind their efforts. "You hold security here by your fingernails," he remarked.
David Azoulai, head of the Matula Council, expressed his appreciation for the President’s visit, acknowledging it as a significant morale booster. "Your presence here during these challenging times is truly commendable," Azoulai stated.

The President's visit intended to boost morale and assure the residents and soldiers of the nation's unwavering support.
