The Israeli occupation's targeting of a pregnant Palestinian woman in Jabalia camp, located in the northern Gaza Strip, has ignited significant outrage across social media platforms. The incident, which involved the woman being injured during an Israeli attack, has raised critical questions regarding the response of human rights organizations to the ongoing violence in Gaza.
A disturbing video surfaced showing the injured pregnant woman on the ground, pleading for help. Emergency services were able to reach her; however, they faced additional danger as another Israeli strike occurred near the Jabalia Preparatory School for Girls where the ambulance was stationed. The woman, identified as Mai Al-Rantisi, was later admitted to Kamal Adwan Hospital where her condition stabilized.
The United Nations reports that there are approximately 49,000 pregnant women in Gaza, with around 17,000 facing severe food shortages. The ongoing conflict has severely limited access to essential pre- and post-natal care, increasing the risks of miscarriage and maternal mortality. Social media reactions have been predominantly critical of the Israeli military actions, with users expressing disbelief at the lack of international intervention.
