The National Rally (RN) has firmly positioned itself against the potential formation of a New Popular Front (NFP) government, regardless of whether it includes Insoumis ministers. RN leaders Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella have expressed their intent to vote for a motion of censure if the NFP is appointed by President Emmanuel Macron. This comes amid ongoing consultations regarding the new government.
Le Pen emphasized that the NFP, even without Insoumis representation, would still be led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, asserting that his influence remains significant. The RN has voiced concerns over perceived political paralysis and the alliances formed during the legislative elections that aimed to limit RN's power in the National Assembly.
In light of these developments, the RN is calling for an extraordinary session of the Assembly to ensure that the National Assembly can take action if necessary. Their leaders are advocating for a Prime Minister who respects all voters, including those who supported the RN in the recent elections.
