Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Face Temporary Boxing Ban
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have been handed a temporary ban from boxing following their recent bout at the 'Generations Fight' held in Texas. The fight concluded with Paul defeating Tyson by unanimous decision, with scorecards reading 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73. Tyson, at 58 years old, struggled to keep pace with the 27-year-old Paul, landing only 18 punches out of 97 attempts, while Paul showcased his speed and skill, landing 78 out of 278 punches.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has mandated a seven-day suspension for both fighters to allow for recovery from potential injuries. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of boxers, requiring a rest period of three days for each round fought. In cases of knockouts or technical knockouts, longer recovery times may be enforced. The regulatory body emphasized that the decision for medical exclusion is based on the recommendation of the examining physician.
Despite the setback, both fighters have expressed their intentions to continue their boxing careers. Tyson remarked, "I don't know if this is my last time in the ring. It depends on the situation," while Paul acknowledged the honor of competing against a boxing icon like Tyson.
