Kylian Mbappe Excluded from French National Team for Upcoming Matches
In a surprising move, Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has been left out of the French national team for their upcoming matches against Israel and Belgium in the European Nations League. Coach Didier Deschamps cited a minor muscle injury in Mbappe's left thigh as the reason for his exclusion. After recently returning from injury, the decision aims to prevent any further risk to the star forward's health.
Deschamps stated, "I spoke with Kylian of course, he has a problem that is not serious, but it requires treatment so that he can recover well. I am not here to take risks, and that is why Kylian was not on the list." This cautious approach reflects the coach's commitment to ensuring the player's long-term fitness, especially after Mbappe's limited playtime in recent matches.
In place of Mbappe, Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has been called up to join the squad, which also features a mix of experienced players and emerging talents. Notably, the lineup includes Paris Saint-Germain forwards Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, and Randal Kolo Muani, along with Bayern Munich's Michael Oliseh and Inter Milan's Marcus Thuram.
France's Updated Squad for the European Nations League
The French national team has undergone some changes, particularly after Antoine Griezmann's retirement announcement. Besides Mbappe, midfielder Adrien Rabiot was also omitted from this squad. Deschamps has opted to integrate younger players into the midfield, such as Youssef Fofana, Manu Kone, and Aurelien Tchouameni, aiming to build a strong team for the future.
Injuries have also affected the squad, with N'Golo Kante missing out due to an adductor muscle issue. Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga has returned to the team after recovering from his own injury sustained during last month's international break. The full squad reflects a blend of youth and experience, positioning France well for their upcoming challenges in the League of Nations.
