Keylor Navas Accused of Labor Law Violations
Keylor Navas, the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Real Madrid goalkeeper, has recently been accused of serious labor law violations by his former private secretary, known as Nicolas. He claims to have slept in a humid, unventilated room in the basement of Navas’ home, where he also had to prepare his meals. Moreover, he states that his monthly salary of €3,200 was paid in cash, bypassing any formal employment documentation.
In a video relayed by BFMTV, a voice assumed to be Navas’ can be heard saying, ‘We don’t work with French laws here. No French contract, I pay you in cash. We work with my rules.’ This, coupled with the lack of a payslip, raises significant legal concerns.
Adding to the severity of the accusations, Nicolas claims he was forced to carry a shotgun to ensure the safety of Navas and his family. There are videos showing Nicolas with the weapon in hand, and he asserts that Navas would sometimes shoot the gun on his property for amusement or to impress friends. These accusations suggest a level of coercion that borders on modern slavery.
Nicolas has enlisted the help of lawyers Yassine Yakouti and Lola Dubois, who assert that Navas' actions are contrary to all labor law rules. They emphasize the urgency of judicial intervention, likening the situation to modern slavery that demands punishment.
The Versailles prosecutor's office has yet to respond to these allegations. Navas, who joined PSG in 2019 and recently announced his departure from the club via Instagram, had not reacted publicly at the time of this article’s publication.
