Amman - Despite the hot regional developments, the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the recent Israeli army invasion of large areas in the West Bank, and the effects of that on the Jordanian situation, the Independent Election Commission in Jordan announced the date for the upcoming parliamentary elections for the twentieth House of Representatives on September 10.
The head of the Independent Election Commission, Engineer Musa Al-Maaytah, confirmed in an interview with Al Jazeera Net that the upcoming elections will be fair without direct or indirect interference from the official side, noting that the commission is “immune” from any interference and does not accept anyone imposing their guardianship over it.
Al-Maaytah pointed out that the upcoming elections will be held according to a new electoral law, and the upcoming parliament represents the first step in the path of the desired political modernization, leading to the formation of partisan parliamentary governments.
