Jeep Unveils North Star Special Edition for Renegade and Compass
Jeep has announced the launch of the North Star special edition for its popular Renegade and Compass models, commemorating the milestone of one million units sold in Europe by the end of 2024. This edition is not just a special series but a testament to the success of these models in the European market. Eric Laforge, Head of the Jeep brand for Enlarged Europe, emphasized that the Renegade and Compass have been pivotal in the brand's growth, attracting new customers over the years.
Positioned between the Altitude and Summit trim levels, the North Star edition boasts an elegant design and enhanced features that elevate it beyond standard offerings. Key highlights include new seats made from a high-strength material that lasts significantly longer than previous fabrics, ensuring durability and comfort. The interior design features a sophisticated two-tone color scheme, with black trim accentuating details like the alloy wheels and sunroof.
In terms of performance, both the Renegade and Compass North Star editions are exclusively equipped with hybrid engines, including the Hybrid 48V and 4xe options. Prices start at €35,600 for the Renegade and €41,350 for the Compass, with orders opening on October 10, 2024.
A Sneak Peek at the New Jeep Compass Electric 4x4
In addition to the North Star edition, Jeep is gearing up to unveil a new version of the Compass that will include an electric 4x4 variant. This model aims to address declining sales in the U.S. and ongoing production challenges in Italy. The new Compass is expected to be revealed fully next month, featuring a range of powertrains that include a 1,200 cc hybrid gasoline engine and electric versions equipped with high-capacity batteries offering impressive ranges.
Set to become Jeep's second electric 4x4 after the Avenger, the new Compass will showcase tough design elements synonymous with the brand. Production for the European market is slated to begin in 2025, with U.S. production following in 2026. With competitive pricing and a European platform, the new Compass may pose a significant challenge to established competitors in the market.
