Limited Israeli Military Breaches in Southern Lebanon
Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, a military and strategic expert, has assessed the situation in southern Lebanon, stating that the Israeli occupation army's breaches remain limited and have not yielded significant military achievements. Despite ongoing operations, Al-Duwairi noted that the Israeli forces have failed to establish control over key areas, even after two weeks of conflict. He highlighted that the Israeli army's operations have only resulted in minor penetrations of a few hundred meters in certain locations, such as the Qawzah area.
Hezbollah's Strategic Response
In response to the Israeli military actions, Hezbollah has intensified its operations, reportedly bombing Israeli positions north of Haifa and Acre, as well as in the occupied Golan Heights. Al-Duwairi emphasized that Hezbollah has yet to fully reveal its military capabilities, which include an estimated arsenal of over 150,000 missiles, comprising precision and cruise missiles. He anticipates that Hezbollah may soon execute qualitative surprises in its military strategy, leveraging its extensive resources and well-planned operations.
Humanitarian Impact Amidst Ongoing Conflict
The conflict has led to a tragic humanitarian crisis in Lebanon, with recent reports indicating over 2,400 deaths and more than 11,000 injuries, including many women and children. Additionally, the conflict has displaced over 1.3 million individuals since hostilities escalated on September 23. As the situation develops, both military and humanitarian considerations remain critical in assessing the broader implications of the ongoing conflict.
