Osama Hamdan, a leader in Hamas, has emphasized the need for the American administration to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to fulfill agreements made last July. He stated that the resistance movement will not relent on its demands, particularly regarding the complete withdrawal from the Philadelphi Corridor along the Egypt border. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Hamdan criticized the U.S. for using ambiguous language regarding partial withdrawals, claiming it misleads the global community about the actual freedoms for Palestinians.
Hamdan reiterated that any new proposals that do not include a full withdrawal from the Philadelphi Corridor would be unacceptable. He condemned Netanyahu's recent rejection of a prisoner exchange deal and highlighted the importance of Egypt's position in this ongoing political landscape. He accused the U.S. of complicity if it ignores the need for complete withdrawal, linking it to the recent deaths of Palestinian prisoners.
The Hamas leader further asserted that military pressure from Netanyahu's government has only resulted in more casualties among prisoners, complicating negotiations. He called for the world to recognize Netanyahu's actions as war crimes and expressed concerns over the international community's indifference to the ongoing violence against Palestinians. Hamdan concluded by stating that the resistance will continue in the West Bank, despite Netanyahu's declarations, indicating a potential escalation of confrontations.
